Resurfacing for a little blogging

Wow, what happened to May? I can't believe the last time I posted was April 16th. I've been very neglectful in my blogging...just have not been feeling up to it. My Dad is fine this time...I'm the one with the troubles. I know this is a knitting blog, but I feel I owe you all a little explanation. I've been having a problem with my knee. I thought I was going crazy because my knee felt very wonky and I was in a lot of pain. In actuality I do have a loose knee cap which I have been going to physical therapy for. Between that and doing my PT homework, my oldest son moving out of the house to New Hampshire (he landed a fabulous job) plus all the end of the school year concerts and programs and parades...I've been quite busy. Once school's out for the summer I hope things will settle down.

Yes, I have been knitting. That's one past-time that really keeps me sane. I even get to do some knitting while I'm doing my PT. A whole twenty minutes while I'm getting the differential and ice pack :)

Here's some of the items I have finished in the past month and a half:

A baby prayer blanket using leftover pink and white yarn and Grandmother's Favorite dishcloth pattern.
Socks, my basic toe up sock recipe using the stitch pattern from the Show off Stranded Sock pattern.
More socks - a gift for Kate, my basic toe up sock recipe using the stitch pattern from Monkey Socks.
and more socks using my basic toe up sock recipe with the herringbone stitch pattern from the Charade sock pattern...
I've been knitting so many socks one after the other that I have become quite good wth my toes and heels....I don't have to refer to the directions any more. I probably could knit them in my sleep now!

I even won a prize from Aunt Kathy, gorgeous stitch markers. I really want to put them on a chain and wear them as a necklace :) Thank you dear AK!!
...and we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary on the 19th of May.
I was pleasantly surprised with beautiful flowers, lovely earringsand even a triple chocolate cake :) ...sorry no photo!

Last but not least my youngest's last art project: I'll definitely be framing this one to add to all of my boys artwork which adorns just about every wall in my house!

You can see now that I have been busy :)
Hope every one is well and I will try to catch up with every one sooner or later...

happy knitting :)

    Great socks, so pretty.

  3. Happy Anniversary! I hope your knee feels better soon. Good to hear your dad is doing well too. Nice to see you're still knitting, you've been busy with those socks! They all look great. (I've just started warming up to the SRH) Your son is quite an artist, you should be proud of him.

Take care of yourself and have a good weekend.

  4. Hi there! It's great to see you post again..all those socks are just gorgeous! They look so warm, too. I keep looking and looking at them. You've become quite the sock knitter.

Love the artwork! Your son is certainly talented.

Sorry you're having trouble with your knee. Stress makes everything so much worse! It sounds like you need a really good dose of R&R...which would allow you to do every fun and nothin' stressful. Sometimes we just have to let some things go, like commentin' on all the blog posts we missed..just let 'em go..giggles. For real. It just wears a body out. It's too much. Dr.'s orders! :) I'm sure all your blogger friends will agree with that.

  5. Sorry to hear about your knee - is the PT working? I hope that its getting better and that you can't get back to normal soon!

Beautiful projects - love all the socks.

Happy Belated Anniversary - 25 years! Wow!

  6. Wow - that is a lot going on. Happy Anniversary. Hope your knee feels better (I wonder if sitting and knitting exacerbates your knee like it does mine?) Love all the wonderful knitting. Son's Panda is amazing. *Hugs* for having you son move out. While you must be thrilled he's got such a great job - it must be difficult. It's good to hear from you.

  7. glad to see you back. I understand about the blog blahs.

Love the knitting...I think I'll be making some socks in the near future.

Happy Anniversary. My 10th was in the month of May....

welcome back and take care of the knee

  8. Wow, you are a sock knitting machine, and a baby blanket too! You put us all to shame! And the socks are gorgeous.

Hope your knee gets to feeling better!

That is a great picture. How cool will it be when he shows them off to his kids. Guess that's what moms are for, huh?

  9. Well, you've been busy! Sorry to hear about your bad knee and I hope it gets better soon. I like your Show Off sock pattern, but you need to put your name on the pattern so that people can give credit to you for it long after they've downloaded it. Thank you for making it available.

    Happy Anniversary!

  10. Hey good to hear from you. Sorry to hear that you aren't feeling to well. I love the new blanket. Those flowers and earings are beautiful. =) I love all of the socks too. You have been really busy!!!

Love your projects. Yes, totally get not having time to blog as I too am very remiss in updating since April 7th. The shame of it all will get me motivated -once I figure out the new operating system my husband installed!

  12. I used to knit during PT, too. Keep up the PT, it's the best thing for your injury.

Happy Anniversary! I love all your knitting.

  13. It's so nice to get a life sign from you! That sucks with your knee caps. I hope it will get better. Your socks look great, it's not long ago, you showed us your first knit socks!
We are having our 24th Anniversary at the end of June! :o)

  16. Wow, you've been busy. As always all the projects are wonderful. Love the art project...there's some real talent there. I agree that is indeed suitable for framing.

Hope you feel better soon, good new things with your dad are going better.

We're chipping away here too. I've been visiting dad a couple of times a week, he comes for dinner usually once a week, and I've been taking over food often for him. I call and talk with him daily, sometimes multiple times or he calls me.
