My one and only

At the moment I have only one project on my needles. I'm diligently working on my Circle Squares (that sounds like an oxymoron, doesn't it?) for the blanket I will donate to the Pine Street Inn Knit-a-thon this year.

My progress is so very slow. As hard as I have tried to date I have only cranked out 16 squares. I need 35 to make a blanket.

I'm anxious to start joining the squares, but I must restrain myself. I need to finish all the squares first so I can decide on their placement. Can't wait. The knit-a-thon takes place on Sunday, November 6th. It's not in the cards for me to attend this year's event, so I guess the pressure is off. I will send the completed blanket in once it's finished, when ever that may be, hopefully before the end of the year.

Are you thinking about adding some new yarn to your stash? If you think you do need more yarn, be sure and check out the auction going on to benefit the Pine Street Inn and to help end homelessness. There are lots of great yarns up on the auction block.  Thanks for looking :)

Last, but not least a special note to let everyone know that my Circle Baby Blanket Pattern is now available in Spanish with charts on Ravelry. Special thanks to Carmela Salcedo, my knitting friend from Spain for translating the pattern. To download the Spanish Translation just click on the Ravelry download link.

I think that's it for now. Once I finish my blanket I hope to have more to show you. Have a great weekend with lots of happy knitting :)

  1. Those are awesome looking squares, can't wait to see the finished blanket.

  2. This is a blanket of EPIC proportions! It is going to be drop dead beautiful!

  3. Someone is going to have a very nice blanket!

That is so cool that your pattern is translated into Spanish.

  4. That's cool that your pattern got translated into Spanish, that's rather exciting.

I need to check on a couple of my bids for the yarn auction. Got signed up yesterday, it's fun and easy. I've been encouraging people to do that via facebook and twitter. Been awhile since I've sent squares, or completed ghans to Pine Street. Though hope to again, I spend most of my charity time working on my own homeless charity, have you ever checked out my Bridge and Beyond Blog? We've added 2 family shelters that we supply with warm goods. Currently working on joining a ghan for them. So, you and I are doing the same thing, too bad we can't sit together and chat while doing it.

  5. You have an impressive stack of squares. I have no doubt the blanket will be finished before the end of the year.

  6. You make the neatest blankets!

Right now my knitting has slowed down a bit, I did pick up some Phentex Worsted to make two prayer shawls for church. Other than that it's been mostly dishcloths. Good thing too, I know have a dozen to send to my sister who just loves them.

  7. Hey, I love the new look here at your blog! Very nice, and I'm glad you kept the same header as I always enjoy it changing.

That's going to be a very warm blanket for someone. I like the way you've placed them for preview, too.
I hope the project makes a lot of money with the auction.

Congrats on the Spanish translation of your pattern. I know just enough Spanish to get myself in trouble, but it's fun to try to read it.
    Have a great week!

  8. Fabulous squares (as usual)! I am bummed that you cannot make the K-A-T this year. Thank you for helping spread the word. Pine Street really appreciates it. More and more yarn is being added to the BiddingforGood site all the time - be sure to check it out!auction/AuctionHome.action?auctionId=139724751

  9. those cloths would make great swiffer mop pads !
