Have you joined a Ravelympics Team yet?

Well I have! Carolyn asked me to join Team Overly Ambitious, Yet Plausibly Possible (OAYPP). I wonder why she thought of me?
Since I hadn't joined any teams yet (actually I hadn't really thought about it too much) I figured why not?...it might be fun. I signed up for only two events: Sock Put and Home-Stuff Hammerthrow. My reasoning being, first I wanted to challenge myself...socks are not a fast and easy knit for me and I haven't knit any for a while, plus I do have yarn in my stash. Second home-stuff, well that's easy knitting and perfect for when I'm on the go. I don't take socks with me for a take along project (fear of losing my dpn's) and I figured out that some cloths or pot holders might be the way to go. You never know I might just pull off knitting a couple. We'll just have to see how it goes. I'm ready. Let the games begin. Read up on Ravelympics including the rules here just in case you might want to join in the fun!

Not to bore you, but I just finished another Ballband Appliance Cover. This time the cover is for my Kitchen Aid Mixer. This one matches my toaster cover and my Oster Kitchen Center Cover.
Well, almost. The second cone of peppercorn ombre was a different dye lot, so there is a variation in the colors, and shading. Not perfect, but I can live with the difference. I don't think the average person would notice the difference.

Remember my textured painted dishcloths? Well, they were inspiration for Patrica's knitting students (I mentioned her email to me in this post). She kindly sent me photos of their creations for me to show off. (I wish I could have made the photos larger, but this is what she sent me.) I think they are lovely and this type of knitting makes for one of a kind items, hands down!

Speaking of showing off, have you checked out my Knitting Friend's Gallery recently? I've added lots of photos of beautiful items knit with my patterns. I'm really amazed at all of the beautiful handiwork!! Thank you everyone for allowing me to post your photos :) For those of you who have knit up some of my patterns, be sure and let me know if you have any photos you would like to add to the line-up. Thanks. I really love showing them off :)

Now I'm going to try and catch up on my blog reading. I just don't know where the time goes and I have no idea why I keep on getting so far behind? Most importantly I hope everyone manages to get in lots of happy knitting this weekend :)

  2. I just hide all of my kitchen appliances in the cupboards. LOL they don't get too dirty there, but they do get filled up with little toys floating around the house. Love all of the dishcloths. Boy I need to go yarn shopping so I can make some more dishcloths. Have a great weekend!

  7. I thought about the Ravelolympics... I even got Shelly to join, but I decided to wait until next year... too many medical issues I fear I might get overwhelmed.

  8. I have visited the Ravelympics site several times and thought about but have not clicked that join this group button. Don't know what is keeping me from it but I just haven't. I am sure you will do well.

Love the new appliance cover. You make those so fast. I am in awe.

  9. You are really on a roll with those appliance covers!!!

Love that Ravelympics group name. I thought I'd try Ravelympics to give me a little extra kick to start AND FINISH something. However at the rate I'm NOT knitting right now, I am not feeling very confident about succeeding.

How do you keep up with all your blog reading? I'm always behind. And the more time I spend on the computer (reading blogs, working on my blog, or other activity), the less knitting gets done.

  10. I love the appliance cover. Another project to put on my 'someday' list! (which grows longer every day it seems!!) I have checked out the Ravelympics yet.... Need to do that. I did join the Summer of the UFO KAL and have been quite inspired by that!! Always good to get that extra motivation!! Off to check out your gallery!!

  11. Love the latest cover. I don't think anyone will notice that dye lot difference either.

WTG on joining the Ravelympics. I would love to join but can't seem to keep up with anything lately and I don't want to set myself up to fail. I think I'll just play it safe this year and sit it out. :(

I am so far behind on my blog reading (and posting on my own). I just don't understand why. I got lots of catching up to do.

    Hugs!

  13. I really love your appliance covers in ballband! That looks so great, and much more neat than seeing the appliance sitting on the counter!

And, I must be way behind in blogsurfing, b/c I missed out on your textured colored cloths post in May. That looks really awesome, I'll have to try that with some of my cottons :)

  17. What a great team name!

You are all so ambitious. I might be available in two years when the winter olympics come around again!

There is so much for me yet to learn about Ravelry. I've barely scratches the surface.

  18. You are the queen of appliance covers now! I love it!

I should knit one for my Kitchenaid mixer. It's so beautiful though (mine's red), I kind of hate to cover it up but it would be nice to keep some of the every day kitchen grime off of it!
