"Marlyn's Handy Hooker' worked up fast and in no time I thought I had a solution,....but I really wasn't all that crazy about it when I tried it on.
The thought of someone actually seeing me with this thing around my neck made me pick up my crochet hook to try another design...one not so odd looking. Don't get me wrong, it most certainly would do the job it was intended for quite well.
Here is what I came up with:

Now I make sure I wear my cable needle pendant when working on my cable blanket. Just a couple more diversions. Now I just have to get going and finish it....I'm getting there slowly :)

Aha - great idea. I'm working on a sea of cables right now, so this could come in handy. Or, we could just knit our cables while wearing a handknit sweater and stick the cable needle right in the sweater. (OK - maybe not). Good luck with your cables.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, your design is much more palatable. It's slightly reminiscent of some American Indian designs but with a softer look. I like it. :)

ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me know about Sandy's Space. I think when I added my new templates the issue began and to fix it I had to change from embedded below comments to full page. Would you try it again and let me know. And in the meantime I'll compare settings on all 3 blogs. Don't believe I made any change when I added the new one on Bridges. Hum...sometimes these codes elude me. lol

ReplyDeleteHow do you like this year's calendar. I was a tad disappointed in it.
Keep plugging away on the blanket.. a blanket is much more work that a wrap.. I have myself on a schedule now that i MUST follow in order to finish in time AND i need to find 2 buttons. SHould check the stash first.
I have to say it will be cozy warm. It's taking almost as long to pick out the veg matter as it does to knit.. oh and I use a dpn as a cable needle... and put it in my knitting when not in use!
That is great idea. I am always loosing cable hooks. I always thought I needed an extra hand. Hope you are doing well!
